So I was thinking about attending Northeastern but sports ar eimportnat to me so a) is the caa a fun league to follow b)does northeastern have good teams in any of the following sports: football, soccer, baseball, hockey, basketball? thanksNCAA coloniala athletic association?
Yeah the CAA is a fun league to follow how about George Mason 2006 Final 4 baby and then throw in GW , Old Dominion and VCU and you will always have an entertaining basketball league. Football is D1-AA , but last year Delaware had Flaco and know he's starting QB for Baltimore Ravens. Besides the basketball I would say the conference is definitely big into Field Hockey.
Northeastern- Football well this year there 2-5 and last year they went 3-8 and 5-6 in 2006 so it seems there struggling and Football team isn't a strong point. Hockey is defiantly the big time sport at this school.
Soccer seems to be on the upswing with a 9 game winning streak before losing to Drexel in 2-OT so far there (5-3-6 3-1-3 CAA) Doe not look like they where in the NCAA tournament in a while.
Baseball- Not so good lately in both 2008 25-26-1 and 2007 there season ended early with no trips to the playoffs. Used to play in the American East and had better records.
Hockey- Yeah off to a strong start this season as they went unranked to being #11 and blanked Maine 5-0 after struggling last year 16-18-3 (12-13-2). In fact they had a long losing season drought going back to 2001-2002 when they won 19 games 17-3. The Bean Pot is always a high lite of the season. Other then that North Eastern best times where back in the 80's when they came in 3rd in the Frozen 4 1982.
Basketball- This will be hard has Northeastern moved from the less competitive American East to CAA. struggled 2007-8 14-17 and 13-19 2006-2007. Did make the NCAA tournament in 2005 losing to Memphis in the round 1st Round.
