Man United fans on a pedestal?

Is there a reason why Manchester United fans place themselves on a higher level than other football fans or is it simply due to their overbearing dellusion that they are a superior force and in fact invented the game of Association football as we know it.

Time and time again they try to suppress other fans by basically ganging up on them like kids in a playground, it is any wonder neutral fans have such contempt for them. If it came down to success then surely everyone would hate Liverpool for winning 'it' FIVE TIMES!Man United fans on a pedestal?
Success is cyclical sometimes your winning everything the next you in the lower leagues. When your team is winning you are arrogant towards your rivals and when your losing you treat your rivals with contempt because you cannot stand to see them doing better than you. Newcastle for instance all ways try to make us believe they are a BIG team, lots of fans yes, trophies? nope.

where ManUtd differ is that from 1967- 92 they had 25 yrs of no title wins and the indignity of relegation. From 1966 to 1999 they only won he European Cup twice. The fans however continued to persist in the belief that they were somehow the best team in the country for the best part of 25yrs. Fans of other teams performing poorly bemoan the fact that their team IS poor, fans of Man U just look back on their success` and delude themselves until the good times return. Such is Football
1= how can it be harder to win the champions league than the premiership, as for all their effort, Liverpool CAN'T WIN IT and it looks like they can't make the champ league this year !!!Man United fans on a pedestal?
I think its harder to win the league than the Champhions league!

The league is harder cos u need to be consistent over 38 games and the champhions league can be won with coming second in the group stage and 7 draws in the latter stages!
You are so mean that is all i can say.Man United fans on a pedestal?
I've been a United fan all my life, the first game i went to was against Norwich in the late 70's. From the mid 80's (when i got 'old enough') i went to every home and away game until the late 1990's when family and other financial committments meant i couldn't squander my hard earned in such a flippant way any longer. I still go to about half the home games and one or two aways every season though.

Your assumption that United fans place themselves on a 'higher level' than others is borne out of Jealousy. In the 70's and 80's when Liverpool were winning everything there were loads of kids in my (mancunian) school who wanted to support the successful team so they, along with thousands of others across the country with no geographical connection to Liverpool started supporting them.

In Manchester United we have a Global team now...supported by hundreds of millions across the world. Domestically, there are 2 teams..United and liverpool who are historically the most successful in the UK. in recent history United have been the most successful so ..like any other leader, we are on a pedestal anyway,,whether we like it or not. The Leader is there to be shout at and United seen to be shot at by every fan of other clubs who think that THEY should be in United's position.

There are loads of people who call themselves ABU's (anyone but united)

So for the real United fans ...and the jonny come lately glory hunters ..of which there are a significant amount at United it's this fact which makes us think 'sod 'em, there's nothing we can do to make people think more highly of us and why do we want people to think better of us anyway?? It doesn't really matter it's just that whatever a united fan says will be misinterpreted and slagged off but ultimately it's all down to that dangerous emotion....jealousy.

edit...to AsH....are you trying to wind people up or are you educationally subnormal?
Jealous Liverpool fan cos they never won the prem pmsl
We Don't Place Ourselves on a Pedestal, Just Our Team.

Who BELONG There.

Glory,Glory,Man United, as We go Marching On,On,On,

Woo Hoo.
Micheal i can only imagine you've supported everton since they won the league in the 80's, I've followed UNITED since the 60's and have continued to stand loud and proud in the second division. i personally don't understand the hatred, MANCHESTER UNITED play exciting attractive football end of. i don't find it necessary to post questions about everton fans other than you, because i don't really care, sorry we don't waste more of our time talking about, MANCHESTER UNITED reserves, norman whiteside, andrei kanchelskis, phil neville (your captain) tim howard, and a certain brian kidd.

ty DOCTOR, THIS IS THE KID THAT WAS LAMBASTING UNITED FOR ITS HANDLING OF THE SURVIVORS OF THE MUNICH AIR DISASTER
Well, we can't put you on pedestal as you're an Everton fan who supports a team who has won jack. You won the FA Cup final against us i'll give you that, but to use your local rival's success as an attack against United smacks of desperation.
Its a shame that as a EVERTON fan... you jealousy and hatred of Mn Utd buns so bright... that you'r even willing to praise and promote liverpool...

dR bad

What kind of Everton fan are you ...? 鈽?br>

ps: great answer GIGGS.... maybe we need to throw him a few more cast offs...

I'd marry you if I wasnt so busy
Are you blind Michael O as to who is attacking who?
Ooow, someone`s snappy today!

Just post some links as proof of Man U fans ganging up on other fans, then maybe i will take you seriously.
The actual supporters don't. Plastics maybe.

Ash: Stop being so bitter, concentrate on Shitteh and you might actually achieve something.

31 years.
They do come across as smug arrogant swaggering toss pots!
All Liverpool has proved is that they're good at tourney play. Winning the League Cup is much harder, and well...I think you know where I'm going with that.
Very well said, have a star!

-They are not the most successful.

-They don't have the best squad.

-They don't have the best manager.

-As a club, they are dwarfed by Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool and AC Milan!!!!

-Their stadium is terrible.

-Their fans are surely amongst the least loyal in the world.

HaHa, yeah...I luuuuuuurve winding United fans up! And it's so easy!!!!
Another jealous anti- Man Utd fan, get in line with the rest..
