First, do you agree or disagree that boosting TV ratings plays a role in who is picked for BCS games? Second, do any LSU fans feel like this takes away from your victory last night? Les Miles seemed to hint at that in a press conference today.

Well, in actually answering your two questions.
1. First, do you agree or disagree that boosting TV ratings plays a role in who is picked for BCS games?
To answer this, you have to look no further than Notre Dame. Notre Dame has so many BCS and bowl game tie-ins its not funny. Notre Dame is just as storied as the Army or Navy football programs yet neither one has a TV contract and is included in any of the BCS championship game formula's. There are other teams as well that I think have a large fan base, such as Oklahoma, Ohio State, etc, that get invited into bigger BCS games and teams like Missouri get left out. There appears to be teams that get invited or left out every year under similar circumstances. I think that Bowl picks are greatly influenced by TV ratings. Bowls with great fan base or high population schools = more money.
2. Second, do any LSU fans feel like this takes away from your victory last night?
I am an Ohio State and WVU fan. If I were an LSU fan, I'd be angry if I suddenly had to keep playing to win a title that under current rules, my team had rightly won. However, if I knew that my team HAD TO play a playoff series to win the title, I'd be understanding and have confidence in my team continue to win. However, after having had watched my Mountaineers completely blow Oklahoma out of the water, I would love to see this team get a shot at playing some of the other BCS teams that also got left out.
My overall opinion of a playoff is that it is a great idea but they need to designate some games as just regular bowl games to keep the bowlsters happy and designate others as "Playoff series" Bowls. The problem I see with this is finding the exact formula to decide who gets in and who doesn't and also designate separate who gets in the other bowl games. In my opinion a 6-6 or 7-6 team really shouldn't get in a bowl game. The fact of the matter is that every year this argument comes up and I don't think a PLAYOFF will ever happen. The SOS and bonus points for knocking off top 10 BCS ranked teams was a much much better system that they used to have. It forced teams to consider scheduling good OOC games during the year which brought good games on TV inseason. This needs to be brought back in in the formula and then I think the "playoff" argument, the one that will never be taken serious, will drown out.
I love the thought of it. Funny thing is, I just watched this video. It would definately prove who's the best. What do you think of University of Georgia president Michael Adams' playoff proposal?
Overall, I don't think it's the best idea, but it's a start. Personally I think it needs to be a 16 team playoff system where ALL D-1 conference champions get an automatic bid in the playoffs. Yes, and that means ALL conferences...even WAC and the Big Ten (ha-ha, jk...couldn't help myself).
As far as if TV ratings plays a role...OF COURSE. It's all about the money when it comes to these games. It's why Kansas got the nod for the BCS game over Missouri. It was all about the story and who wanted to see if this "underdog" could win. It's why USC played Illinois in the Rose Bowl. That was for "tradition" which brings those traditional dollars. (I know the Rose Bowl is not technically a BCS bowl, but still...you get my point). If it wasn't for the money these contracts have generated for the Bigger Conferences, the sponsors, and the networks, we would have had a Playoff system a long time ago. It's sad, but true.
I think it would be a lot better of a system.
All the other leagues have playoffs.
Also, it would keep teams like Ohio State from getting to the national championship and getting stomped by superior schools. What do you think of University of Georgia president Michael Adams' playoff proposal?
I disagree with him. I say the NCAA should establish a 16-team playoff consisting of all eleven conference champions (yes including the lowly Sun Belt champs) and five at-large berths.
I think it would be good but we'd have to follow by Terry Bowden's idea.Of keeping the bowl games but in a less dramatic event.keeping most of the other bowl games but in a smaller tournament liket the nit is in basketball and then have 12 teams in the bcs poll bein in for the championship using 5 or 6 of the big bowls as where to play havin play each other while the numba 1 and 2 have byes.sometime like the nfl.the big east, acc, sec, big ten,big 12 and pac 10 champions have automatic bids while 6 other at large teams can try to make a run for the final 6 spots.
