The Football Association have voted in favour of developing controversial plans that would limit clubs to fielding just five foreign players.
FIFA's "six-plus-five" rule would change the face of the Barclays Premier League, forcing teams to play at least six English players in their starting line-ups.
The plans appear to be a step closer following the overwhelming backing at FIFA's annual congress in Sydney, but the European Union immediately reiterated their stance that the move would be illegal.

no the FA doesn't support it as their is lots of opposition from most clubs and its a hard rule to implement.
