This is a SCAM.

Check out the below link for confirmation of various scams, including the famous Yahoo/MSN lottery scams and how to report them.

http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/lo鈥?/a>

Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Just remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. I suggest you delete the email and send it into cyberspace, hopefully along with the thieving scumbags who send them.

Check out these sites for further information :

No way, Jose. You receive an unsolicited email, which states that you have won a major prize in an international lottery. Supposedly, your email address was collected online and attached to a random number that was subsequently entered in a draw for the lottery. In order to claim your prize, you are instructed to contact the official "agent" in charge of your case. You are also advised to keep the win confidential for "security reasons". This part of the scam is basically a random phishing expedition. If you respond in any way to the email, the scammers will send further messages or even contact you by phone in an attempt to draw you deeper into the scam.

You may be asked to provide banking details, a large amount of personal information, and copies of your driver's licence and passport. Ostensibly, these requests are to prove your identity and facilitate the transfer of your winnings. However, if you comply with these requests, the scammers will have enough information to steal your identity.

Sooner or later, the scammers will request some sort of advance fee supposedly to cover administration, legal or delivery costs. At its core, this scam is just a reworking of the Nigerian loan fraud, in which scammers also eventually ask for upfront fees to facilitate the "deal". Like Nigerian scams, victims who do actually pay the requested fees will probably find that they receive continuing payment demands to cover "unexpected expenses". The requests for money will go on until the victim realizes what is happening or has no further money to send.

In some cases, the scammers give victims the option of opening an account at a particular bank as an alternative to paying upfront fees. However, this "bank" which is completely bogus, will insist on an initial deposit of $3000 as a requirement for opening the account. The fake bank will have a legitimate looking website to reinforce the scam. In other cases, the victim is given the option of travelling to an overseas destination and paying a cash fee to facilitate the release of the funds. However, any "winnings" released to the victim will be counterfeit and therefore worthless.

The details of the lottery scams vary regularly with regard to the name of the lottery itself, the country of origin, the sponsoring organization, the amount of the "prize" and other particulars. The scammers try to add a patina of legitimacy to their claims by mentioning real financial institutions, government departments or well-known companies. They may also provide links to slick looking, but fraudulent websites that are designed to back up information included in the scam emails. If the scammers are successful in establishing a dialogue with a potential victim, they may provide "proof" such as a scanned image of a supposed government official's ID and even photographs of the "winnings" in cash.

Complete list of SCAM e-mail addresses.

Someone likes Jill Pinky's answers, I have seen them copied and pasted several times recently..Is this real?
No it is one of thousands of bogus lottery emails that go out every single day.

The story does not sound at all credible. The email claims that every quarter they give away $22m. That's $88 million dollars per year. Now imagine for a moment that you had a budget of $88 million to promote South African football. Do you really think that contacting ten people via email four times per year and sending them two million dollars each makes sense? Wouldn't you think it would be better to send eight million people $100? Or advertise on TV? Or in a newspaper?

The concept of something like this existing to promote football is just ludicrous. Also if you had a budget of $88m, don't you think you could find someone to work for you who could write proper English, and did not Randomly Capitalize words in the middle of sentences?

So again, it's just a scam, and I am 100% certain that you will never get a penny from these people. What's more if you are silly enough to provide them with information about you, they will use that to steal from you.
Ask yourself the following questions:

Do you really think you have won a lottery when you did NOT purchase a ticket BEFORE the lottery was held?

Do you know anyone in South Africa? Why would anyone from South Africa enter your email address in a lottery without asking you for money BEFORE the lottery was held?

The only legitimate information I could verify in your email is Confederation of African Football (CAF) and South Africa Football Association (SAFA) are real sports organizations and that +27 is the international telephone country code for South Africa. I visited the web sites for both of those sports organizations and searched them using the keyword LOTTERY. I found no information so that means they do NOT sponsor any lotteries. You can visit their web sites by clicking on the top two links I posted below.

Finally, do a Google search using keywords such as SAFA LOTTERY WINNING NOTIFICATION and you will see just how many others have received the same message as you did. Their might be slight differences such as in the dollar amount of the winnings and the name of the person sending the email.

Do NOT try to contact them via email. If you do, that will confirm to them that your email address is active. They can sell your verified contact information to other scammers. Do NOT try to contact them via telephone. That will provide them with a verified telephone number they can also sell. If you want to take some action against them, try clicking on the last source link I posted below.
Nope, afraid not. Sounds very much like a scam.
No.

Edit: "South African Information Network Online (S A I N O), which is affiliated with the Internet."

Affiliated with the internet???! hahahahahaha
Did you enter this lottery? My guess is no. So If I was you I would delete this e-mail as soon as possibe. They seem to be asking an awful lot of personal questions, so even if they are not asking for any money up front. (Which I am sure they will) to release your winnings , then they maybe trying to steal your identity. Follow this link below to get more details

Who do you think will win 2018 & 2022 FIFA bid to host World Cup?

2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup bids

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Jump to: navigation, search

The bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups is currently under way. These will be the 21st and 22nd editions of the FIFA World Cup. The bidding procedure to host both the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup began in January 2009, and national associations had until February 2, 2009 to register their interest.[1] The executive committee of FIFA will announce their decision on the two editions in December 2010.[2] Candidates have applied for either or both of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments, but the 2022 hosts will not be chosen from the same continent as the 2018 hosts.[3]

Nine individual nations registered their intention to bid with FIFA by the February 2009 deadline: Australia, England, Indonesia, Japan, Qatar, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, and the United States. Mexico later withdrew its bid. It had also been reported on the FIFA website that Egypt was entering a bid, but the president of the Egyptian Football Association denied that any more than an inquiry in principle had been made.[4] Additionally Belgium and the Netherlands registered to bid together, as have Portugal and Spain.[5] FIFA confirmed the list of bidders in March, with South Korea and Qatar bidding for 2022 only.[6]Who do you think will win 2018 %26amp; 2022 FIFA bid to host World Cup?

What do you think of my top 11 anime series?

11- Pokemon: This series is the reason why anime became popular. It was so original at the time and so fresh that it stayed fresh for a long time. Unfortunately other monster anime like Digimon and YuGiOh came out and competition became tight that they ran out of ideas for good episodes. Pokemon is the original and the best so SCREW OTHER MONSTER ANIME! They's all wannabes!!

10- Outlaw Star: The coolest thing about this anime is that the characters are so unique and do not have any similarities to any other anime series. It totally stands out and has

9- Gundam Seed: The characters are forced to get involved in a war and it shows how they feel from that perspective. The politics is a simplified version of its predecessor Gundam Wing but the psychology aspect was explored a far deal greater. Not only that, the animation is AMAZING! It was MOVIE-QUALITY! Gundam 00 is supposed to be the 1st HD series but the colorings and character designs in Seed still look much better!

8- Captain Tsubasa: The first ever stylized sports anime. This series made football so popular that the Japanese Football Association or w/e actually sponsors the show. and addidas does too! This show is the original and the best so to hell with the copycats like Prince of Tennis and Eyeshield 21! Slam dunk gets credit for not following the same pattern but I'm not a basketball guy, im not against it tho.

7- Cowboy Bebop: An anime series that's a so western it out-westerns even 2days western movies and yet it's a space western. An anime with an English dub BETTER than the Japanese version. And themes so unconventional for tv broadcasting. Kick @$$ show!

6- Dragonball Z: An awsome action-packed anime which is the embodiment of manliness. Look at Goku's arms and Vegeta's leg muscles and they have huge chests! Makes any guy wanna work out and bulk up! And they're tough and actually look like men, more easy to watch than bishonens!

5- Fullmetal Alchemist: A great mix of fantasy with drama and interesting characters, this series does not feature the usual child protagonist stereotype. The lead characters are kids but they're mature and intelligent which makes it so different.

4- InuYasha: A fantasy fairy-tale that had a great mix of action, romance and comedy. I am usually against the idea of having action and romance mixed in BOTH as the MAIN theme in movies, but this worked in an anime because the series was VERY long so it had time to develop the romance without cutting away from the action like they always do in stupid modern action movies.

3- Transformers: This series was so amazing, giant robots that turned into cars and planes and are at war, holy crap! Unfortunately because the series was Japanese/American it didn't become as great as it could have been as a serious TF series until the original movie came along, HOLY CRAP! That movie has awesome animation by even 2days standards! And they made it so dark and killed off Optimus Prime....which of course made me cry but the realism of war was what made it memorable. Screw the live-action movie not only because it had Michael Bay and Megan Fox, but because it could not to an ANIMATED film.

2- Death Note: A fantastic series, Death Note has a mind stimulating story that just draws you into it like a black hole. One of the most well-constructed and believable supernatural series mixed with reality detective work. And despite the name it's not a wussy emo show.

1- Gundam Wing: This series is by far the most complex and well written anime series of all time. If you're into military and politics even if ur a non-anime fan, you HAVE to watch this. Wing, despite it being science fiction future story, the politics gets u thinking and u begin to understand politics better. What do you think of my top 11 anime series?
I dont like anime and im asian xD
Nice, choices. And I agree with you on the Pokemon part. Its why I actually started watching anime. What do you think of my top 11 anime series?
you have some really good ones.

i remember pokemon when i was little. i loved Nine Tails %26lt;3
Nice choices in anime. I have watched all of them but Outlaw Star. What do you think of my top 11 anime series?
That's a great list. Its mostly mecha that I see.
While I haven't seen a lot of these series, I've heard of a few and they seem good. You seem to be a fan of more older series I'm guessing, right? If you want, you could check out Serial Experiments Lain if you haven't already, it's a pretty psychological anime and makes you use your brain.

I have to correct you though on the Cowboy Bebop thing. Cowboy Bebop started off as a shoujo manga called Cowboy Bebop: Shooting Star which came out in 1997 in Asuka Fantasy DX (and is still running actually), it wasn't until 1998 that the anime version came out so in no way is the manga a spin-off.
Good, you are a true anime lovers. Sadly, I would have put Inuyasha first becasuse I love it,m though I didn't like the manga ending!

These description are so thrilling and compelling, so I will also tryu watching them. I also love the original pokemon. So funny with Mistry. I miss her. Dragonball Z kicks asses. I love it!
11- Pokemon: Digimon came out first, straighten you facts, though I'll give you it that Pokemon was good at the time. I prefer the game though.

10- Outlaw Star: Never Watched so cannot comment.

9- Gundam Seed: Good, not enough to be in my top 10.

8- Captain Tsubasa: Never watched, not going to comment.

7- Cowboy Bebop: Kick *** is right! I'd def put it in my top 5.

6- Dragonball Z: Also a classic, top 10 worthy for sure.

5- Fullmetal Alchemist: I kinda kind of see why people like it, but definitely not top 10 worthy in my book.

4- InuYasha: Once again, something not top 10 worthy in my book, though I am only docking points due to the length of the series. If they would have shortened it, it'd be almost on my top 15 list.

3- Transformers: Did not enjoy, liked movie much better. Though my friend disagrees with me.

2- Death Note: A wussy emo show. ^.~

1- Gundam Wing: Not number 1, but top 5 worthy.

PS: Bebop is Shojo. Look it up on Wikipedia.
There's not a seinen or josei anime on the list... And the closest thing to a shoujo anime that you have listed is Inuyasha- and THAT was published in Weekly Shounen Sunday.

I can't approve of any "top anime" list when it only covers one genre. In this case, shounen.

Throw in some seinen (ie Monster), throw in some josei (ie Honey and Clover), throw in some shoujo (ie Card Captor Sakura), and maybe THEN I could approve of your top 11 list. Because at the moment this could better be called "Top 11 Shounen List."
Nice!! You've got some great classics in there!! :)

You list is very similar to mine, except Dragonball Z and Gundam Wing has their own category since they're classics, they're kind of in the hall of fame. They're on a higher platform.

    Please read this.?

The Korea vs Swiss match was unacceptable. The ref was either a total idiot who doesn't deserve to be a ref, or he'd been bribed. And I think it's the second, because I've seen him ignoring Swiss fouls ON PURPOSE, turning around pretending he didn't see it (Example: Handling by a Swiss player in their penalty area, TWICE.). It was so obvious it wasn't even funny. Plus, that offside - FIFA rule states that the moment the kicker's foot makes contact with the ball to the direction of an offside zone it is considered an offside. That situation was just ridiculous. Either you schedule a rematch, or you fire that ref and issue a formal apology to the Korean football association and to the rest of the world - Swiss media is the only group that insists that the match was played fairly. I thought the World Cup was a symbol of peace and harmony, to reassure friendship between countries through soccer - but I guess I was wrong. I am VERY disappointed. I never thought a (possible) corruption wouldPlease read this.?

way to long to read that crap, nobody cares about soccerPlease read this.?
I tried to read it, but it's too darned long!!! The only question I saw was "please read this?" and that's not even a question. Go ramble someplace else. It's only a game and your world is not going to come crashing down because of it. Get over it.
    The reason why Korea lost:

*South Korea coach Dick Advocaat admitted his side lacked the quality to overcome Switzerland in their decisive 2-0 defeat in Hanover.

Everything else you said is pure nonsense. Please read this.?
    i support the Asia them.
a little unlucky for Korea, a little lucky for Swiss, but I'm really happy with the result!

u wrote that "Swiss media is the only group that insists that the match was played fairly", and I think that in 2002WC Korean media was the only group that insisted that the matches were played fairly!

Korea has had too much luck, too many unfair wins. Now is their time to pay the price! They've been kicked out by the referee just as other teams were in the last WC in their country.
    What a load of rubbish!

The Koreans deserve what they got. They didn't cry foul in 2002 when they advanced thanks to corrupt referee against Italy and when Spain were denied by a linesman.

In this case, the ball was last played by a Korean player, the linesman missed it but not the referee, why did Koreans stop playing when there was no whistle?

    What goes around comes around!
What LOAD OF HOG WASH JUST EXCEPT THE DECISION AND ENJOY THE REST OF THE TOURNAMENT
That was actually bull from the ref. He raised the flag and after the goal he goes, "I don't know." Wat bull is that. I really agree with this person. Reschedule a rematch or fire that idiotic referee.
i agree with the person who asked us to read this... there should be a REMATCH!

and also in the 2002 world cup korea had skills to win not the referee...then the japanese could have also used the referee....

  • Terry backs former boss?

Jose Mourinho's status as the favourite to become the next England manager was enhanced on Tuesday when John Terry, the captain of the national side, backed his former boss at Chelsea to succeed in the role.

England are looking for a new head coach after sacking Steve McClaren last month following his failure to guide Wayne Rooney and co. to the finals of Euro 2008.

Terry is understood to have been consulted by Football Association chief executive Brian Barwick about the succession and made it clear he believes Mourinho would be an ideal candidate.

"Jose came in and took us to a new level at Chelsea," Terry said. "I am very lucky to have worked with Jose - he is a fantastic manager and a fantastic guy.

"He is one that really stands out for me and could make a big difference. He's a great guy, tactically he is very aware, and he understands the game very well.

"He enjoys the day-in, day-out stuff with a club side so maybe it would not suit him, but you never know - it is down to the FA to contact him if they want to speak to him."

Terry's comments came after an advisor to Mourinho said he would be "honoured" to take the England job, while stressing that no approach had yet been made by the FA.

Eladio Parames said: "I can't say whether he is interested or not but he loves English football and he loves the crowds, so I am sure he would consider it."

Mourinho quit Chelsea in September following a series of rows with the London club's Russian owner Roman Abramovich.

There are some who believe Mourinho is making overtures to England simply to boost his hopes of landing a coaching position with one of Europe's leading club sides.

But Parames said there was a simple way to find out if Mourinho was serious about taking the England job.

"If the FA are interested why don't they contact Jose or his agent? If Mr Barwick comes they will listen, just like they would listen if another club came in."

Mourinho guided FC Porto to the 2004 Champions League title before winning five trophies in three years at Chelsea, including Premier League titles in his first two years in charge.

Terry meanwhile admits that he still finds England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008 hard to stomach, and has hit back at suggestions the country's highly-paid stars don't care enough.

He added: "I came into football because I love the game. When you get the disappointments like Euro 2008 and then people speak about money and cars, it is really frustrating because they don't mean anything to me.

"It is about playing for your country and having the pride to honour your country, shirt and family.

"We are at a very low point at the moment. We can only go forward. The FA are looking to bring in the right man to take us forward. But maybe as players we have not done it at international level.

"You get people phoning you and trying to cheer you up and make you happy. But you don't want to take people's calls, you feel as though you've let them down, your friends, your family and all the fans in the country.

"I get home and see my kids and you feel as though you've let them down. Without my kids recently it would have been very difficult because they get you out of bed in the morning and they need a lot time. It has been very difficult personally but we have to move on.

"I take a lot of responsibility on my shoulders as captain. Hopefully I can keep the armband and drive us forward.

"The new man could come in and change things completely. That will be his decision and I will fully respect what the new manager decides. It is a big quality of mine."

Despite their failure to qualify for the Euro 2008 finals, England have confirmed they will go ahead with a planned friendly against co-hosts Switzerland at Wembley on February 6, which is likely to be the first match in charge for the new manager.Terry backs former boss?
IT'S AN OLIVE BRANCH FROM TERRY TO ENSURE HIS PLACE IN THE ENGLAND LINE UP SHOULD MOURINHO ENDS UP AS THE NEW BOSS.
did you copy that from somewhere??Terry backs former boss?
Yeah dude he back's he's former boss

Henry hits out at Gunners - Wolves skipper labels red card a 'disgrace'?

will be very interesting to see what you Arsenal fans will make of this.

Wolves captain Karl Henry has accused Arsenal players of 'going down like a sack of spuds' following his red card at the Emirates on Saturday.

In an outspoken outburst Henry has labelled his dismissal for a heavy challenge on Tomas Rosicky in the 1-0 defeat a 'disgrace', while being of the opinion Arsenal players constantly moan about hard challenges.

" However, Henry - now set to serve a ban as Wolves battle to stay in the top flight, unless the club are successful in an appeal to the Football Association - was left less than impressed by the whole incident.

"I thought they were lucky getting a goal and lucky the referee sent me off, which was an absolute joke," Henry declared.

"I have gone in to win it, Rosicky has gone across me to shield the ball. By that time, I have already gone to ground.

"One of their players has come in, (Thomas) Vermaelen flying in and whoever else, trying to get me sent off.

"I certainly wouldn't be running over, trying to get a player sent off.

"I have seen it again and I have nicked the ball. It was never a red card, it is an absolute disgrace."

    UNSPORTING

Rosicky went off for treatment to the back of his calf, which did have stud marks, but was soon able to continue.

"He is up and running around two minutes later, absolutely fine," the 27-year-old Wolves midfielder said.

"That is what they do here, I don't think it's pretty.

"Their players moan when they get tackled when they get hit hard and so does Arsene Wenger.

"Here in particular, Arsenal moan a lot, their players go down like a sack of spuds.

"They get hit hard like any other clubs do and we are hearing about it for weeks and weeks.

"They play good football here, and are a great side, but it is not nice to see.

"We love Arsenal's great football, but when they are rolling around getting people sent off, it makes you not want to see them do so well."Henry hits out at Gunners - Wolves skipper labels red card a 'disgrace'?
O wow! Ok lets examine his comments.

"He is up and running around two minutes later, absolutely fine"

So unless you seriously injure a player to the point where he can't carry on, a red card shouldn't be given. Is that what he's trying to say?

Let me tell you something, that should have actually been his second yellow card as before that incident, he tackled Walcott and then stepped on him which was clearly on purpose...here's the video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQlu9WTmQ鈥?/a>

So regardless, he got away with the first one but the second tackle should have actually been his second booking.

    Ok so here's the rule:

    "Decision 4

A tackle from behind, which endangers the safety of an opponent, must be sanctioned as serious foul play."

    "SENDING-OFF OFFENCES

A player is sent off and shown the red card if he commits any of the following seven offences:

    1. is guilty of serious foul play"

Clearly, under the rules, the red card is the correct decision.

And let's not forget, he actually left 3 stud marks on Rosicky's leg so clearly he did go in with his studs.
Henry is an idiot. Lucky to get a goal? that was the biggest case of anti football. one attempt on goal. pitifulHenry hits out at Gunners - Wolves skipper labels red card a 'disgrace'?
Sorry Henry but I think it was the right decision.

"Their players moan when they get tackled when they get hit hard and so does Arsene Wenger."

Yes we do moan because being "hit hard" it not what football is about! Being "hit hard" is the type of thing that is ending player's careers so of course we will moan!

And lucky getting a goal! We were unlucky in not getting one sooner!

Also there were quite a few bad tackles that were ignored by the ref and the media like the one on Walcott.

I don't think there was any intent for it to harm but it was a pretty dangerous tackle.
What about scousers rolling on the floor hypocrite gerrard for diving

fcuk off scouserHenry hits out at Gunners - Wolves skipper labels red card a 'disgrace'?
    Lmao!

Someone's been going a little hard on the sour grapes.
EVERYBODY has an opinion like their ar5ehole,unfortunately for him he's more of an A hole for his opinions has no carry/weight
Yeah Aron Ramsey, Abu Diaby and Edurado went down like a sack of potatoes! What a sore loser, It was a harsh tackle and the only reason he is saying that is because there was no serious to Rosicky, Had he been hurt Henry would have cried about how it wasn't his intent and it was an accident and such. Fact is the word out is to rough up the Arsenal players are to fancy and the only way to disrupt the play is with hard tackles.
Good God such a load of bollix, drogba on his own does more rollin on the ground in added time than arsenal does in a whole season. this all started when eduardo was caught diving when he came back...since then arsenal have been called every name under the sun...i'm not even a gunner and i can see that (pool fan)

Mr Henry needs to go and take his head out of his bitter hole so he can actually see what is goin on instead of just talkin ****
At least he has some emotion and cares about his team staying up and achieving if they were relaxed in 10th now he'd consider it a nice little break. but you arsenal people do moan a tad to much at times.
he is ******...who told him going in hard is part of the game? if he so used to his THUG life then he better display it out of pitch coz football is not for THUGS like him
he is an idiot - this is the same player who stood on Walcotts calf in the first half - the replays showed that he left his foot there far longer than necessary (Naturally MOTD didnt even show or mention that). Then he slides in from behind and goes through Rosickys standing leg to get the ball - tackles from behind are (or should be according to the rules) a red card every damn time. Does he think Rosicky painted on the blood on his calf afterwards??(Naturally MOTD didnt show that either).

And he doesnt even mention the fact Wenger actually stood up for him after the game - dont bother next time Arsene.

What does the Spurs bid for the Olympic Stadium tell us about British values?

In 1992, the Football Association decided to replace its support for all the clubs in the League all over the country with a 'Winner Takes All' approach where the lion's share of all Football receipts went to the Premier League clubs, leaving the lesser clubs to fend for themselves best as they could. This created a world-leading prestige brand for others to emulate.

Without this reform, I doubt whether Tottenham Hotspurs could have afforded their bid to replace the 2012 Olympic stadium, costing billions to the taxpayer, with a purpose-built private football stadium ten miles from Tottenham, to enable their waiting list to buy season tickets for club events, and also upgrade the little-used athletics stadium in South London .

Do the British value anyone or anything more than their Premier League footballers and their bankers?

If not, what are the consequences? What does the Spurs bid for the Olympic Stadium tell us about British values?
What it tells me is that Harry Redknapp is foreign and not English. I watched him as he snarled on about bulldozing the London Olympic Stadion down replacing it with his plastic football pitch.

    It's not going to happen.

We made a promise to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that we would build an Olympic Stadion and that it would be available for with a running track beyond the Olympic Games for the people of London and the UK.

When the English (British) do a deal, they stick to their word. Redknapp looks and sounds like some kind of Cockney Spiv selling dirty post cards on the street corner outside the school.

    Mount Olympus Greece
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLv_aLNlr鈥?/a>What does the Spurs bid for the Olympic Stadium tell us about British values?
I would be very suprised if Spurs won it. West Ham need a running track around their pitch in order to keep Piquionne on the pitch ;)What does the Spurs bid for the Olympic Stadium tell us about British values?
The problem with this thinking is it's short sighted. The lower league teams are the places tomorrows English 'stars' are moulded. When they cease to be so do our future prospects. The was a time when football was about two teams kicking a ball around, those days are long gone, football has succumbed to greed.

btw why should tax payers fund a stadium for Tottenham, I would prefer my billions to go to student fees, social housing, nhs, state ed, police, saving english forests, creating jobs, reducing the deficit, r%26amp;d, anything but a fecking multi million pound football team, or a bank.

Is this the new meaning to the word 'foul'....?

A referee ordered a penalty to be retaken in a Sunday league football game when an opposition player broke wind as the ball was kicked.

The Chorlton Villa player got a yellow card for the noise which was classed as "unsporting behaviour".

The team, who conceded a goal on the second take, went on to win the match 6-4 against International Manchester FC at Turn Moss in Stretford, Manchester.

Villa manager Ian Treadwell said their conduct was "normally exemplary".

"One of our players 'broke wind' and only the referee heard it and he booked the player," he said.

"The other player had the penalty saved because it was a bad penalty; it was nothing to do with any noise. They were as shocked as we were as to why."

Mr Treadwell said he was waiting for the Football Association to contact them after it had received a report.

The Manchester Publicity league club faces total fines of 拢97 for three dismissals and two yellow card bookings from the game.

    'Just hilarious'

Mr Treadwell said: "We are not a dirty team and we like to play football.

"While I won't condone the actions of the players, it is an emotive game and some of the players were sent off for entering into conversation with the referee.

"This has come at a bad time in the season as we don't have sponsor and we are looking for a new sponsor for next season."

Pauline Riley, secretary and treasurer of International Manchester FC, said both teams were "very friendly".

"There's no animosity. It was just hilarious," she said.

No, there is a new meaning to the words Self Concious.

Trever brooking says he Doesnt think england is good enough to reach the semis in the next world cup?

So what do you think of this for a statement?

Sir Trevor Brooking has said it is unrealistic to expect England to reach the semi-finals of the 2010 World Cup.

The Football Association's director of football development said the squad lacked the depth of talent to compete.

"I thought there was a lot of quality football in Euro 2008 and the fact we didn't qualify was almost a reality check," Brooking told Sky Sports News.

This is the F.A Director and He has no belief in the england team, What a defeatest loser he should be booted out of his job. The reason England didnt qualify for Europe is because they Got in a amateur (mclaren) to do the job, The reason England has flunked has been down to the shambles of the F.A and its backroom goings on. The players are there and are well capable of doing the business.

Im not even from England but that was a total disgraceful statement, Anyone agree with that?Trever brooking says he Doesnt think england is good enough to reach the semis in the next world cup?
I would say that the FA director of football development ( Brooking ) would have to accept quite a lot of blame for that fact because the game has not been developed to it's full potential in this country. I agree with you on the reasons for our failure to qualify for the euros though * from me
i disagree england will reach the semi's alright, and they'll go out on penalties...i called it first folks, put money on it if you can.Trever brooking says he Doesnt think england is good enough to reach the semis in the next world cup?
He's only speaking the truth, thank god someone can
I would probably say he is correct, people in england think our team is alot better than what they are. Its a fact that they play better for their club than what they do for the england team. Until they all step up their game for their country they wont win a tournament for a while. On paper we do have a quality team, but their performances are no where near as good as it should be. I hate the hype before a major tournament, when everyone thinks england will win. Because they wont.Trever brooking says he Doesnt think england is good enough to reach the semis in the next world cup?
I commented once before about his lack of professionalism with statements putting the National Team down..I was shot down in flames. I still think Brooking is a sad sack, as are many in the FA.

No matter what he thinks or believes, he should not openly opine anything that will undermine the confidence and effort of the manager and players. Saying you have no confidence in the manager you appointed and his ability to select players who can do the job, and that's really what he is doing, is disrespectful.
    Maybe but:-

He was being honest although a guy in his position should keep his trap shut

On the other hand, until someone in the FA admits and faces up to it, nothing will be done about it.

Sir Trevor was spot on, England are not at the moment good enough to win a tea cup, yes, there are lots of reasons why, which need sorting and can be sorted only by being honest and facing up to them.

The days of 'Its about taking part that matters' have long gone along with 'playing for your nation is an honour' its now

HOW MUCH AM I GETTING PAID

Sorry but its true, You were right re the manager but look at the top 4 teams in the premiership, not an Englishman in charge, and the manager is so important, remember Alf and what he said about the '66 cup squad???

"I havent picked the best players but I have picked the best team"

England need to keep that in mind
He may or may not be correct

One thing for sure, England does lack in depth

To be fair England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008 was rather caused by tactical errors in the last qualifier against Croatia

With all respect to McClaren and Carson, giving a goalkeeper debut in a do-or-die game was definitely not the best possible option

Which is made worse with the fact that the experienced Robinson and James were available

And true enough, Carson made a basic mistake which gave Croatia their first goal and started England's downfall

So we cannot really put lack in depth into blame for England's Euro 2008 failure

It would be wise to assess Sir Trevor's opinion before making any judgement

Remember that he is one of the very few who understand English football inside out

  • FA support FIFA rules to stop foreign players?

The Football Association have voted in favour of developing controversial plans that would limit clubs to fielding just five foreign players.

FIFA's "six-plus-five" rule would change the face of the Barclays Premier League, forcing teams to play at least six English players in their starting line-ups.

The plans appear to be a step closer following the overwhelming backing at FIFA's annual congress in Sydney, but the European Union immediately reiterated their stance that the move would be illegal.

maybe wenger should be considering signing more englismen in preparation to the rules, heard he's looking to add 3 more frenchmen.FA support FIFA rules to stop foreign players?
no the FA doesn't support it as their is lots of opposition from most clubs and its a hard rule to implement.

What do we all think of this?

Apparently, England "won't try again" for the World Cup bid:

"English football's relations with Fifa were in meltdown yesterday after the acting chairman of the Football Association declared that the world governing body was untrustworthy and the FA prepared to withdraw Fabio Capello's team from their proposed friendly against Thailand in June.

The shockwaves of the failed bid for the 2018 World Cup finals – after the humiliation of elimination in the first round of voting on Thursday with just two votes – were still being felt as English football came to terms with the decision.

The FA's acting chairman, Roger Burden, withdrew his candidacy to take the post on a permanent basis with an uncompromising open letter in which he said he was unprepared to deal with Fifa – as FA chairman he would be the national governing body's main point of contact with Fifa."

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/footb…What do we all think of this?
    The whole situation is ridiculous.

England should have the world cup hands down 100% no competition, they were the obvious choice, there were no cons with coming to england.

The stadiums are all built (with the exception of new White Hart Lane, and those that would need stand expansion)

England already has enough hotels, training grounds and ways of transport.

And they said that coming to England would be the most profitable world cup there has ever been.

Where as Russia have to build absolutely everything, they have a few alright stadiums like Spartak and Rubin, but they have to build a load more. THEY HAVE TO BUILD A TRANSPORT SYSTEM FOR THE WHOLE COUNTRY

Its never gunna get done in 7 and a half years, Itll be like the commonwealth games in india all over again.

But it is typically english to be like i'm taking my ball and going home, were very good as a country at being sore losers
    Why should we try again

We humiliated ourselves by kissing up to those corrupt to55ers for the past two years

Apparently we're only good enough as a "back up plan" if the original host countries feck up their bids somehow

Watch, 2018 and 2022 World Cups are going to have MASSIVE problems with the racism in Russia and I bet no one will bother going to the Qatar one, so massive revunue lost thereWhat do we all think of this?
I think this is a bit immature by the FA. It's like their holding their breath, or giving FIFA the silent treatment. They don't accept that they lost (and to be fair, I wouldn't either if I just got ripped off by some corrupt greedy moneygrabbers). The whole situation in itself is just plain idiotic.
i don't get it? what was the reason for such bad bid, and why is there lots of controversy around it, im not really familiar with how the world cup bidding works. What do we all think of this?
They should until their ready to present a serious bid, not that fiasco they just put on.
I don't think they should. I can understand where they're coming from.
The more we moan and groan about the decision, the more people will say it's sour grapes on our behalf. We have to accept this slap in the face and move on. For the future, I agree with Ken Bates, Leeds Chairman, we should withdraw from FIFA and set up an alternative governing body, like they have in Boxing and Darts. With us will come most of Europes teams, and the new body would encourage teams from around the world to join us. Let's face it, FIFA is the most corrupt establishment in Sport, and the sooner Blatter and his cronies are brought to book, the better World football will be.

Is this real? Did I just strike it rich!?

I just checked my e-mail and there was this message titled Congratulations You Have Won! from SAFA (whatever that stands for) normally I do not fall for these types of things, I was just wondering if I should e-mail back? This is what the e-mail said:

You realize if you contact them they will need your bank account and personal information. Just to be sure you are the person they are giving all this money away to and to be sure they send it to the right account.

You'll get a surprise if you contact them...you'll suddenly acquire a lot of new debt.
Do NOT, under ANY circumstances email them..!!!

At the best, you will confirm your email address to spammers, AND confirm that not only is your email address valid, but you actually READ your spam.

A complete and total scam! Run away from this. It is a fake, it is a variation on one of many many scams out there. The moment you get an unfamiliar e-mail telling you won something, especially if it's outside your own country, a lottery or any other kind of contest, it's a scam. It can actually be illegal to enter such a contest, but aside from that, you didn't enter, it's something you've never heard of, and that should be a MAJOR RED FLAG! Do not respond, if you do, they will try to get your get account information, your Social Security info and so on, in other words, they want to steal your identity and rip you off.

General rule 1: if it's too good to be true, it's a fake.

General rule 2: if you don't know who they are/have never heard of the organization, do not respond.

And another Red Flag is the part of the message telling you not to tell anyone about it. OF COURSE they don't want you telling anyone about it, because you'll find out it's a scam!

Home Grown rule a good idea or bad one ?

All Premier League sides will have to adhere to new regulations concerning the makeup of their squad this season.

Every club will have to name a first-team squad of no more than 25, of which a maximum of 17 may not be homegrown players.

The Premier League defines a homegrown player as a player who "irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Welsh Football Association for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21)."

So people what do you think of this new home grown rule that came into place this season. Do you think its a great idea or a bad one. please give ur opinions.Home Grown rule a good idea or bad one ?
I believe that this is a good idea for the smaller clubs in the Primer League as they now have more of a chance to compete with the bigger clubs. Also the bigger clubs like Man City can't just buy 10 new foreign players each season and put them on the first team. However there is a down side as clubs will keep the younger players just to fit the rules and they will never develop or be played the way they would if they were sent out on loan or sold to a lesser team. Also players like Fabregas would qualify as home grown under this rule as he was at Arsenal for three years between the age of 16 and 21. This is hardly helping the England team and clubs like Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City will just invest in younger foreign players to beat the rule.

So I can see the benefits of the rule being more chance of a new John Terry, Wayne Rooney or Steven Gerrard and that the smaller clubs don't get left behind as much. Although the down side is still there and teams will get around the rule like with Fabregas.
you can certainly see the point but in practice it may result in some substandard players being included in team squads just in order to comply with the regulation even though the manager doesnt actually have any intention of ever playing them in the first team - so ironically they wil become worse players because they are not getting the practice - where previously they may have been sent off on loan to lower league clubs and get experience in competative matches.Home Grown rule a good idea or bad one ?
Good Rule was put in place to coincide with Blatters 6+5 rule.......shame we are the only league to still enforece it....although the Bunderleague and Dutch league do bring homegrown players through more than any other league.

I think its a great rule as it will give the under 21 players more chance of breaking through.
It is a good rule but i think it could have been better. With the recent standards of the home nation teams i think pushing actual home grown ie british born players it would improve our international chances and over payed divas from all over the world wouldn't see the premiership as a meal ticket.Home Grown rule a good idea or bad one ?
i dont really see how it helps to develop english players. clubs can sign foriegners under 21 and they can go into the squad as they are not counted among the 25. seems like a waste of time to me.
I don't know why we are focusing on rules like this when we have bigger problems. Goal line technology is essential and blatter isn't doing anything about it. Seriously people, OPEN YOUR EYES!
I think it's a disgrace what they determine as 'home grown''.... all the PL teams can tap up 16-18 year olds, keep them in the club for 3 years then their considered home grown?... what a load of crock...
I think its a good idea so long as your not a Man Utd fan ....lol

I think you should look at good Man utd kids coming through... La Macherada, Diouf, Hernandes....all future England prospects!!! Are they not!!!!? lol
    I lovin the homegrown.
It is a VERY good idea...... as long as you dont support Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City
    yes
Good rule as it allows clubs especially top clubs to really CONSIDER home grown talent. but has its flaws as well.

Consider this: Jay Spearing will be 22 this year. he can't seem to break into the first team bcoz really he is not talented enough. However bcoz of the home grown rule Liverpool won't sell him as he helps them meet their quota. so Liverpool are stuck with a player that they may not want but keep him bcoz they risk being under their quota or would have to spend a large sum on English talent(like Milner or Ashley Young, who are good but overpriced) to keep their quota. the player's growth is stunted bcoz he cud have gone on to another club and made his name there..as in the cases of Warnock and Guthrie, but he continues to ride the bench until he's 25+ bcoz a quota must be filled. I rather see 6 of 25 as it gives teams more flexibility.

  • Blatter dissmisses England as bad losers , what would you like to say to him , keep it clean please?

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has rejected allegations of corruption at football's governing body after Russia and Qatar won the right to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, calling England "bad losers" for their reaction.

FIFA member: Media ruined England bid

FA chief quits, says cannot trust FIFA

"To be honest, I was surprised by all the English complaining after the defeat. England, of all people, the motherland of fairplay ideas," Blatter told Swiss weekly magazine Weltwoche in an interview released ahead of publication on Thursday.

"Now some of them are showing themselves to be bad losers," he said. "You can't come afterwards and say so and so promised to vote for England. The results are known. The outcome came out clearly."

Roger Burden, acting chairman of the Football Association, withdrew his application for the permanent position last week, saying he could no longer trust FIFA members after the failure of England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup.

He added that England's bid team in Zurich, which included Prime Minister David Cameron and the second in line to the throne, Prince William, were promised votes which had not been delivered by FIFA executive committee members.

Blatter said the reaction of the losing bidders showed some did not understand his drive to expand football's frontiers.

"I really sense in some reactions a bit of the arrogance of the western world of Christian background. Some simply can't bear it if others get a chance for a change," he said.

"What can be wrong if we start football in regions where this sport demonstrates a potential which goes far beyond sport?" he said.

England's bid chief Andy Anson has suggested Blatter influenced committee members before the vote by reminding them of British media stories which alleged corruption against them and led to two being banned.

Blatter rejected the corruption allegations and said he was being targeted by anti-FIFA journalists: "There is no systematic corruption in FIFA. That is nonsense," he said. "We are financially clean and clear."

But Blatter said FIFA could not act as if nothing had happened, adding he wanted to set up a taskforce to look into compliance issues, without giving details.

"We need to improve our image. We also need to clarify some things within FIFA," he said.

Asked if he would still be FIFA president to open the Qatar World Cup in 2022, Blatter said: "Definitely not. If God wills it, I will be invited to the opening party on crutches or in a wheelchair."

Well done Sepp, didn't want the World Cup here anyway.

    Dear Mr Blatter,

    You sir, are a buffoon.
    Kiss my ar$e Blatter!!!!
Good man! Speaks the truth .. Why dont u admit it?
He's right. England are going on and trying to blame somone else rather than manning up and congratulating th Ruskies. RUSSIA HAD A BETTER BID, AND THATS WHY THEY WON. NOT BECAUSE OF SOME 'IMAGINARY CORRUPTION'
Sepp says "England, of all people, the motherland of fairplay ideas"

I say, "Sepp, ole buddy, that is exactly why we are complaining. You and your cronies on the FIFA board are a useless set of corrupt old hoars*" (spelling adjusted for Yahoo's filters).

Frankly, it is beyond me why anyone in England expected anything else fom these people. They have done this stuff so many times before (especially Sepp).

West Ham's Gary O'Neil may take legal action following tackle by Aston Villa's Nigel Reo-Coker ?

Gary O’Neil is considering taking legal action against Aston Villa midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker after a tackle that may have put his career in jeopardy.

The 27 year-old was carried off on a stretcher after being challenged by Reo-Coker during West Ham United’s home defeat last Saturday and underwent a two-hour operation on Wednesday evening.

It is understood that the ligament was ripped from O’Neil’s ankle in the impact he suffered during the tackle and he will not be allowed to put any weight on his foot for two months.

There is thought to be anger and frustration at the club at the extent of the damage caused to O’Neil. Chairman David Sullivan said on Thursday: “This has seriously depressed me, terrible for the player and a big loss for the club with Scott Parker out.”

If the worst case scenario does happen and O’Neil’s career is over then it is believed he will consider whether to pursue Reo-Coker for damages which could run into millions of pounds in lost earnings.

There have already been several such claims made in football while, recently, former West Ham striker Dean Ashton considered the same course of action after his career was ended by a training ground challenge by Shaun Wright-Phillips.

West Ham are pursuing the Football Association for £6.8 million in damages for the loss of Ashton as they claim the injury he sustained on England duty ended his career. That case is being dealt with by the FA’s insurers but is moving slowly towards a conclusion.

For now O’Neil, a former England Under-21 international who began his career at Portsmouth before moving to Middlesbrough for £5 million, is fighting to save his own career. It had been hoped that the cartilage in his right ankle could be screwed back into place but, during the operation, it became apparent that the pieces were too small to do so.

Instead he underwent a micro-fracture procedure where the three areas of damage were drilled and these will fill with scar tissue.

The injury is undoubtedly extremely serious and, it is believed, the surgeon who operated on him is giving O’Neil no more than a 50 per cent chance of ever playing professional football again.

QQ - well, your thoughts on this folks ? :-/

He was starting to show some good signs as well.

Very annoying. Especially considering it was by Reo-Coker, who now hates West Ham.

As for the Ashton incident, I really believe we we'd be in a much better off position now if he was still playing. The guy had so much potential.

Mind you, he could have left to a higher-placed club by now.. but y'never know...West Ham's Gary O'Neil may take legal action following tackle by Aston Villa's Nigel Reo-Coker ?
it's football, you sign a proffesional contract knowing that a mis-timed tackle can end your career,
and the Ashton thing.- There is no reason to take legal action for a tackle, west ham are begging for money here, rather pathetic.West Ham's Gary O'Neil may take legal action following tackle by Aston Villa's Nigel Reo-Coker ?
"it's football, you sign a proffesional [sic] contract knowing that a mis-timed tackle can end your career,

and the Ashton thing.- There is no reason to take legal action for a tackle, west ham are begging for money here, rather pathetic."

Dean Ashton's contract was with West Ham United not England. West Ham United paid his wages. He sustained the injury whilst training with England.

Obviously there are other issues (such as West Ham agreeing a new contract with him), but he sustained the injury that ultimately ended his career whilst he was with England, therefore it should be the FA's insurers (if any) who pay out.

Thoughts are with Gary o Neill. I was right in front of the incident and thought it looked a fair challenge. I don't think suing a fellow pro (unless the action was malicious or deliberate) is the right way to go. Players/clubs are insured to cover this eventuality.

    Violence ruffling 2010 feathers?

Deadly attacks on foreigners in South African townships may hurt the country's bid to host a successful 2010 soccer World Cup, the South African Football Association's (SAFA) chief executive said on Tuesday.

Raymond Hack said he hoped the attacks, which have killed at least 24 people, would not impact on the World Cup.

"You know attacks like this...are very sad for football, are very sad for the country," Hack said. "So we need to ensure that it (the violence) is brought to an end as quickly as possible".

Rioting mobs have been attacking foreigners with knives and stones, raping women and burning shops and homes to the ground in shantytowns around Johannesburg since May 11.

Thousands of African immigrants have sought shelter in churches, police stations and community centres.

The attacks on foreigners have exacerbated concerns that high levels of violent crime coupled with poor infrastructure and a dire electricity crisis could prompt Europeans and other foreigners to watch the World Cup games from home.

"(The) majority of the public here love football," Hack said.

"Football is one sport where there hasn't been any divisions irrespective of your race, religion, colour or where you come from. It's a game played by the people for the people."

South Africa, the first African nation to host the World Cup, is spending billions of dollars to build new stadiums and upgrade a creaky transportation system and other infrastructure.

The country attracted 8.4 million visitors last year and is aiming to have 10 million by 2010.

"We are extremely concerned about the potential impact of these attacks on 2010 but also tourism growth in general," chief executive of South African Tourism, Moeketsi Mosola, told Reuters.

Local World Cup organisers have dismissed persistent reports that soccer's world governing body FIFA is considering stripping South Africa of the tournament. FIFA officials have denied that they are considering such a move.

South Africa's government has said it is confident it will have crime under control by the time the tournament begins.

"It (the violence) has no relation to 2010. I hope that long before that we will deal with it," deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Aziz Pahad told reporters at a media briefing in Pretoria.Violence ruffling 2010 feathers?
Shows how much South Africa cares about human beings living in their country when all they can say is that they hope it doesn't affect tourism and, people coming for the world cup.

I hope FIFA do strip them from the tournament to show them that no one wants to visit a country no matter how beautiful when people are being raped and hacked to death whilst the Government and fellow citizens stands back and watches..Violence ruffling 2010 feathers?

  • Why do people think that we in the North of Ireland live together in harmony?

The Irish football association that's the people in charge of football in the northern 6 counties including the national team are trying to over turn any decision for any players from the North playing for the Republic from now on. This includes players whose grandparents were born in the Republic before 1921. This is the same national team whose supporters called Neil Lennon a Fenian traitor for playing for Celtic even though he played for Northern Ireland as well. Lennon quit international football because of the constant sectarian abuse from the NI fans. Derry city had to swap over to the southern FAI league because of sectarian violence and abuse against its players and supporters. But isn't that the height of bitterness stopping someone playing International football because they have the cheek to not want to play for a team where its own fans are loyalists and willing to shout sectarian abuse at them for being Catholic?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football鈥?/a>Why do people think that we in the North of Ireland live together in harmony?
Sadly I think a lot of people outside know that NI is not yet a harmonious place to live. This is because there are still bigots on both sides who just will NOT let go of the bloody past.

Blame the British, blame the army, blame the IRA, blame the Loyalist paramilitaries, there is always someone to "blame". But the fact is that the buck stops with THEM. Trying to stop someone playing for a particular football team because of his religion or the previous club he played for is stupid, pointless and achieves nothing other than stirring up even more hatred which will be reciprocated by the other side.

The bigots have the chance for peace, its up to them.
Your endless Wars puzzle me. A Church at every corner and War on every Street. Something just does not make sense. Why do people think that we in the North of Ireland live together in harmony?
What makes you think that neighbours in other countries always get along?
High knee socks, short shorts and kicking a ball sort of silly, go back to hating the Brits. Why do people think that we in the North of Ireland live together in harmony?
they dont. its because the brits have turned some of the population against those who dont like their occupation.
Seems to me that in Northern Ireland a certain number of individuals are not open to others points of view,no matter what the view is that doesn't agree with them.

That being said its probably not that different anywhere else, although it does appear that religion and politics in Ireland are not necessarily the best mix.
This is a 400 year old problem (or there abouts) and caused by a mixture of French Protestant priests, the Scots and latterly, the English. I was born in England but on my mums side of the family, we come from Eire. I've been to Eire many times now and I love the place and the people and feel completely at home there. The feelings of unrest are bred into children and this is where the whole peace process breaks down. People have to let go because until they do, they will instill their feelings into their children and it gets carried on until you get to the point that everybody hates each other but they don't really know why. It becomes an instinct to hate and this is so destructive and pointless but it's almost self- fuelling and this is so sad. I get totally confused now with loyalists, royalists and so on. The whole bunch need to sit around a table and be told "Well, this is crap, isn't it? None of you are leaving or going to eat until we sort it out!" The whole country should have a vote on whether they want any rule from England or not and if Northern Ireland becomes part of Eire again, there must be provision for Catholics and Protestants to live in peace together. It is possible because it has been happening. It's just that certain factions are determined that this won't happen. I've never understood why North and South can't get along because they're the same flesh and blood. Same as Pakistan and India. Same flesh and blood yet a world divide. All down to religeon yet we all recognise the same God but slightly differently dressed. Crazy! I can't help feeling that sometimes, the only reason there is fighting between religeous groups is because the arms manufactures profit and the governments get a tax kick back from them. The problem in the North of Ireland must feel more concentrated than across the whole country because you have the same problem that is across the whole landmass crammed into such a small area. My wife is a nurse and works with a lovely girl from Belfast called Sharon. Sharon is one of the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet and I will always remember her saying that when she married a British soldier, her mums sister would spit at her in the street if she walked past her, even if she had her baby with her. In recent years, she went over to see her mum, and felt scared in her mums house at night because the IRA had effectively disbanded itself and there was no order on the streets at night and the din that was going on in the street during the night scared her. So thats a view from both sides of the chasm and it really needs to be sorted out because it's ruining one of the most beautiful places on Earth inhabited by some of the loveliest people. I wish you peace, tranquility, good health and good luck!

Is this a form of Discrimination?

I need some advice. My son has just gone into S1 at secondary school and is an avid football fan. He has been told by his School that he is too old to play for his S1 football side.

Now he is no way ready to play for the S2 football team so i feel as an S1 pupil he should be given all the opportunities other S1 kids get.

Now i have spoken to the heads of the Schools Football Association and they have told me that the age group is for Under 13's and not S1 pupils, so because my son has a birthday mid december he is not aloud to take part in the football team with his friends, is this discriminating against him?Is this a form of Discrimination?
Yes, it is discrimination, but it sounds to me like this can be easily solved. Ask the SFA for the written guidelines and present them to the school's principal. I think the "and not s1 pupils" should mean that because your son is an s1 student, he should be in the s1 league. But, if the SFA says your son should be playing s2, then he will have to play s2 due to his age. There is nothing illegal about this type of discrimination.
    how can this be discrimination

    your son is to old,

playing with older boys will make your son a better player and as for not being with his friends, he will soon make new friends and it wont be long before his old friends will be joining him.

i think your making this into a big deal when its just about your boy growing upIs this a form of Discrimination?
More like tough luck as opposed to discrimination.

Try and find a team outwith school.

Perhaps a good life lesson for him that in life not everything is fair or goes your way; you just dust down and get on with things.
    No, its not discrimination

If he wants to play Football, he is going to have to be a bench warmer for the older kidsIs this a form of Discrimination?
If he is too old for that group then he is too old. There is no discrimination.
no it aint so stop being soft let him be a man an play with big boys do you want your little boy to grow up to be a mouse a little ponsie girl who like to make daisy chains????
Rules are rules. If he is too old, he is too old. You should leave it at that . Not discrimination at all.

Should high score footie games end early?

It can be pretty upsetting when you lose at football - especially if you lose by a lot of goals.

Some officials want the Football Association to introduce a new rule which would mean a game would end early if one team has a nine goal lead.

It's being called the 'Mercy Rule' and it's already used in the USA. Now some junior football associations want it introduced here.

What to you think? Should games be stopped if looks like one team is scoring too many goals?

Or should both teams be allowed to keep on playing to the end - even if it means a big defeat for the losers?Should high score footie games end early?
I don't even think in any English team that would end more than 9-0 to a team at the end of a match. Maybe once or twice, but the FA wont change it since it happens very very rarely. So yes the game should last 90 minutes as usual. As for other teams it is still hard to net 9 goals and not concede any. Unless the team is very weak there is no point ending a match early because that would enrage fans and the winning team.

Are fifa against team US of A?

The game was invented in Britain ( first organized football association, England ) ( Second organized football association, Scotland ) and the Scots invented the modern pass and move game!

Yet the world cup has only ever been played once in it's true home and played in America once!

I think fifa are much more against Britain as a whole than Team US of A !

The world cup should only go to football loving nations who truly understand the game and that my yankee chums means it should never go to America ever again and it shouldn't have went there in the first place. Are fifa against team US of A?

Hmmm... well, soccer isn't popular here in the USA, so it doesn't generate the revenue that it would in Merry Old England, Euphoric Old Europe, or Joking Old Japan. I think it's more about business than being a "game". I have to watch Mexican TV to see it, no one here (except me and this fellow named Fred who lives 2300 Miles away) seems to care, so it isn't good business to bring it here.

That said, I think USA was robbed today. Although, I don't understand Spanish and couldn't hear why the the goal was disallowed. That said, I think FIFA is against what they deem as bad business more than the USA.Are fifa against team US of A?
fifa are not against usa!im from ireland look what happened to us against the french but you cant blame fifa!usa's defence was terrible today and although i was rooting for them i thought they did deserve to win but it was there own fault they didn't convert there chances!
All the yanky bastards who support football for 1 month every 4 years, can go %26amp; **** off.

You're team is **** you're **** %26amp; you will never win the world cup in the next thousand years!!!Are fifa against team US of A?
    FIFA its not against anybody

they just give more priority to big names

of course now they will pay attention to USA because they are good and they have money to waste
Then explain why more people attended the world cup in 1994 in the US then in any other world cup.
    Why not ?

I mean like the Hollywood always makes fun of French people.
the us dindt win now the world is against them
